September the 1st. (leaving Denmark ) - September the 2nd (entering Canada) I clearly remember the days up till leaving Denmark. I was excited, or more than excited. Excited can't even describe the feelling. I was nervous, anxious, confused, excited, scared and happy. I knew that leaving Denmark was a big deal, I don't think my mind had quit realized what was going to happen yet. Stepping out of my comfort zone, saying goodbye to friends, family and surroundings was hard. My older brother was at Herlufsholm kostskole at that time. My little brother didn't go to school because he wanted to come with me to Amsterdam. I said my goodbyes to my house, friends, family and pets. My mom, dad and little brother drove me to Amsterdam, we stopped by Herlufsholm kostskole to say goodby to my older brother, and then we moved on. We had about 10-12 hours car ride to Amsterdam, where we stayed in a hotel, because my flight was leaving the next day. The next day we got up early. We went down to eat breakfast and then up to pack our stuff. I put all my filming gear on and i had my suitcase with me. We went down to the airport by bus. They walked me as far as they could in the airport, and then we said goodbye. I remember walking over to the escalator, stepping on to it and turning around, waving to my emotional mom, my dad and my little brother. Then turning my back towards them and stepping of the escalator. It was at that point it really shocked me, that i was on my "own" and that this was going to be a life changing experience. I walked through security, not knowing exactly what to do, but the guards helped me through it ;). Finally stepping on to the first plane. My seat-number was number 20C, the plane started boarding at 12:40. I flew for about 10 hours from Amsterdam to Vancouver. The food wasn't bad. I actually kinda liked it. I was sitting away from the window so i didn't get to see much. The flight was very long and i couldn't fall asleep because of all the noises. I arrived around 2 pm. The time differences between Denmark and Canada is 9 hours. Denmark is 9 hours behind. My next flight was boarding at 6:30 pm. I had about 4-5 hours of waiting. In the flight i met Noan who turned out to be a really good friend. (She's also and international student at NDSS from Germany). This flight took about half an hour. I flew from Vancouver to Vancouver island. At the airport Grace, Krista and Donavan were waiting for me. I hugged them all and then we went over to the car. Grace was telling me about the game skittles on the way to my new home in Harewood. September the 3rd.
I can't remember much from that day. I'm very disappointed in myself, for not making any journal of the first few days. Grace woke me up at bout 10 am. I ate breakfast with them. Towards the evening we went to Nanaimo airport to pick up Vanessa. Vanessa is from Germany and she is staying here for 5 months. Vanessa's luggages didn't show up, but they promised that they would send it to our house as soon as possible. We went home, ate dinner and went to bed.
